examples of our Higher Education program requests:
Rappelling
Every climber should
know the basics of rappelling. Let us show you the ropes including: equipment
usage, auto blocks, and belaying a rappeller.
Technique
Good Technique is the most essential ingredient for improvement, yet most climbers never take the time to learn. This course will cover some essential skills and techniques that will dramatically improve your climbing performance.
Indoor Lead Climbing
This course will teach some of the fine points of lead climbing and belaying. It is a great introduction to the "sharp end" of the rope. Also see Sport Climbing.
Ascending
Great for Adventure Racers or for anyone who needs the skills to safely and efficiently ascend a fixed rope. This course will cover proper use of the equipment needed as well as the most efficient techniques for ascending.
Time:
2 Hours
Cost: $90 1-3 participants / $30 each additional

Specific to class. 2 weeks advance notice

Sport
Climbing
Finally...a course that will teach you how to function in both the indoor and outdoor arena. There are many differences between sport climbing in a gym and sport climbing on real rock. Besides teaching you the skills needed to sport climb at Adventure Rock, this course will also teach you the skills essential to climbing outdoors. These skills include: how to lead belay, clean routes, hang draws, clip, back rope, and tram. This class will also familiarize you with different types of top-out anchors and the ethics that go along with being a responsible and courteous sport climber.
Time:
3 Hours
Cost: $120 1-3 participants / $40 each additional
Requirements:
Must be proficient with belay skills and a competent 5.9 climber.
Two
weeks advanced notice required.
